North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, NC.

October 2010
- James Malcolm donated two pieces to
the Lumbee Tribe for the Annual Dinner/Art Auction to raise
funds for Indian Health Clinic.
March 2010
- James Malcolm entered three pieces into the Juried Art Show at the
NC Indian Unity Conference in Raleigh, NC. “Grandfather”,
in honor of Rev. C.E. Locklear,
won Best In Show. All three pieces are on display at the Guilford
Native American Art Gallery in Greensboro, NC thru June 2010.

September 2009
- James Malcolm participated as a vendor at the Conference for American Indian Women
of Proud Nations
Conference at UNC Pembroke. His artwork was featured on the
program booklet to support this year's theme, Patchwork to Holism:
Spirituality, Education, Health, Economics, and Community. The
speakers and presenters were also presented with James' patchwork on
mounted on slate.
August 2009
- James Malcolm's Back to Tradition: Lumbee Pinecone Patchwork
Exhibit will be on display at the Guilford Native American Art Gallery
in Greensboro, NC beginning October 4, 2009 and running through
November 2009. This will be James' first one man show - very exciting
news for Dark Water Designs!
March 2009
- James Malcolm submitted three pieces for the Juried Art Show at the
NC Indian Unity Conference in Raleigh, NC. “Homecoming”
won an Honorable Mentioned. All three pieces are on display at the
Guilford Native American Art Gallery in Greensboro, NC thru June 2009.

the
American Indian Heritage Celebration at NC Museum of History in
Raleigh, NC from November 21-23, 2008.

a vendor at the Chapel Hill, NC Festifall Street Fair.

a vendor at Chevy to the Levee at Luther Britt Park in
Lumberton, NC.
July 2008
- Dark Water Designs participated as
a vendor at the UNCP AISES Powwow during Lumbee Homecoming 2008.
- James Malcolm donated "Sacred Tobacco #3" for the Strike At The
Wind! Art Dinner held during Lumbee Homecoming 2008. The piece was
auctioned for $700. Money raised will go to support Strike At The Wind!
outdoor drama.
